Too hot!
It’s been extremely hot, and uncomfortable. I don’t do well in extreme heat. I much prefer snow and cold. I mean, you can always put on more layers. With heat, there is only so much you can take off without the neighbors calling the cops out for indecent exposure and traumatizing the neighborhood.
Which it always amazes me how well Bethany and I get along, and how we got along rooming together in college in Canada. I, from sunny California LOVED the snow and the cold (most of the time) and she, from Alaska, loves the heat. The girl wears a sweatshirt and jeans while in Egypt for pity’s sake! And anything under 80 degrees freezes the poor girl while I’m sweating enough to fill a small lake. I guess we balance each other out.
Bogey
It has been so hot that poor Bogey has taken to lying on the tiles in the entryway to cool off. He has such long fur that I really feel sorry for him. Of course that doesn’t stop me from taking advantage of him being still for a moment and snapping some pictures.
Most of the time he has one expression while I’m photographing him: annoyance. He definitely thinks he rules this corner of the universe and “Who are you to create images without my permission?”
Sometimes I think we should rename him “Chairman Meow.”
My feet are wandering again
I’m off today to play in Yosemite for the weekend. I just hope that I don’t fall off the mountain while hiking Yosemite Falls. It has been on my bucket list for forever. Then I can officially say that I’ve hiked the highest waterfalls in North America. Hopefully I’ll get some great photos while I’m there.
